Finikounda, not more than 15 minutes by car, is a coastal village, which has developed into one of the most beautiful summer resorts of the southern Peloponnese, is surrounded by long sandy beaches with crystal clear waters, where you can enjoy water sports as well. The village has a very pretty harbour for traditional fishing boats and recreational boats. There are also beachfront cafeterias, several traditional restaurants, where you can enjoy, among others, fresh fish and delicious dishes of the Messinian kitchen. Additionally, in Finikounda you can find supermarkets, many tourist shops and pharmacy.

Methoni, 25 minutes by car, is a small well-preserved traditional town, protected by the Greek Archaeological Service due to the imposing Venetian Castle, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view to the sunset and beneath which lie a beach and a sheltered harbor. There is a beautiful square in the center of the town and another one at the seaside, where you can find nice restaurants to enjoy fresh fish and other traditional Mediterranean dishes.  Methoni also has supermarkets, a pharmacy, dentist and a public infirmary.

In Koroni, 30 minutes by car, you can find a wide variety of restaurants and bars which front the attractive harbour side overlooked by the ruins of the original Venetian castle. There are two banks, a post office, hairdresser, dentist, doctors, and a wide range of shops for everyday needs. There is also a vegetable and bric-a-brac market on Sunday mornings.

It takes 60 minutes to drive to the international airport and 65 minutes to the modern hospital of Kalamata which is the administrative capital of the area. Kalamata has a port, large yachting marina and motorway access to ATHENS. The center of town has been the subject of major regeneration during the past few years and offers a wide range of shopping, eating and relaxing opportunities along its main boulevard. There is a greater variety of shops here offering designer goods and some internationally known stores.
